The Frecce Tricolori, whose full name is National Aerobatic Patrol, forming the 313th Aerobatic Training Group, are the national aerobatic team (PAN) of the Italian Air Force, founded in 1961 following the Air Force's decision to create a permanent group for collective aerial aerobatic training for its pilots. With ten aircraft, nine in formation and one solo, they are the largest aerobatic team in the world, and their flight program, comprising about twenty aerobatics and lasting approximately half an hour, has made them the most famous. Since 1982, they have used the Aermacchi MB.339 A/PAN MLU as their aircraft, and their base is Rivolto airport (UD).
