1st Cavalry Division — First Cavalry Division — (also known as First Team) is one of the most famous and most decorated units of the US Army. After World War II, and beyond that conflict, the unit has seen significant engagement in Korea, the Vietnam War, and the First and Second Gulf Wars. Currently, it is a heavy armored division based at Fort Hood, Texas. It is one of the largest American divisions with over 16,000 personnel divided into four combat brigades and logistics units. War movie buffs will at least remember the widespread presence of this military unit in the central part of Apocalypse NoW.
