The marine brigade (since March 1, 2013, "San Marco" Marine Brigade) is a large amphibious unit of the Italian Navy established on March 1, 2013, by reorganizing the Navy's Landing Force. Its command is in Brindisi.
It is part of the joint amphibious component "Force Projection from the Sea," whose commander is the same admiral who commands the San Marco Marine Brigade.
Their motto is "Per Mare Per Terram"
