Dracula is a 1931 supernatural horror film directed by Tod Browning and written by Garrett Fort. It is an adaptation of Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston's 1924 stage play of the same name, which was itself an adaptation of Bram Stoker's 1897 novel of the same name. The film stars Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula, a vampire who travels to England from Transylvania and feeds on the blood of the living, including the fiancée of a young lawyer.

Produced and distributed by Universal Pictures, Dracula is the first sound film adaptation of Stoker's novel. Many actors were considered for the title role; Lugosi was ultimately chosen because he had already played the part on Broadway. The film was shot partly on sets rebuilt at Universal's studios, which were reused at night to shoot a second version of the film in Spanish, also produced by Universal.
