Amendola Airport (ICAO: LIBA) is an Italian military airport located in Puglia, 15 km northeast of the city of Foggia, along the Garganica State Road 89, in the hamlet of Amendola between San Giovanni Rotondo and Manfredonia, which is 25 km away. The airport, named in memory of Lieutenant Pilot Luigi Rovelli, a gold medalist for military valor, has a 2,720 m asphalt runway. Covering 1,050 hectares, it is the largest military airport in Italy. The airport is managed by the Italian Air Force and, according to the Ministerial Decree of 25 January 2008, published in the Official Gazette of 7 March 2008, is classified as a Group I MOB (Main Operating Base) and as such carries out exclusively military operations, not being open to commercial traffic.

The military airport, which falls within the territory of San Giovanni Rotondo, was built in an area located considerably distant from the nearest urban centers; this latter aspect has led to the creation of a small urban agglomeration ("Villaggio Azzurro"), built to house military personnel and airport base employees.
