These items are produced according to very specific production standards dictated by the Ministry of Defense.

The pin is made of enamelled metal and measures 1.5 cm

On 20 August 1971, the “Organizational Nucleus” was established to begin preparatory activities for the establishment in 1973 of the “Centro di Perfezionamento al Tiro per l'Arma”, which was to be given the task of training shooting instructors and studying the problems of the sector.

The School, which took on its current name in 2004, was placed under the control of the Inspectorate of the Specialization Institutes of the Carabinieri on 1 January 2017.

Directed by a Colonel/Lieutenant Colonel, it is responsible for carrying out advanced training courses for the use of individual/department weapons and for the specialization of shooting instructors, selected marksmen, gunsmiths and armament officers, as well as research and experimentation activities on new shooting techniques, weapons and equipment.

The Department also carries out studies and updates on sector regulations and, for particular needs at national level and upon activation of the General Command of the Carabinieri, contributes with its specialists to the sniper system of the territorial force.

For training and experimental activities, the School uses a modern polygon in a tunnel, two closed open-air polygons and interactive digital FATS simulation systems.
