Gifted to Kili by his mother, this labradorite stone bore six runes engraved into its polished surface: Return to me. A constant reminder of a promise made before their quest began.
It is a talisman, a powerful spell lies on it. If anyone but a dwarf reads the runes on the stone, he will be cursed forever, or not. Depending on whether you believe in that sort of thing. It is just a sign: a runestone. My mother gave it to me to remember my promise.
Designed by the same artists and craftsmen who worked on The Hobbit trilogy, the Kili Runestone is crafted from polystone and painted to create the look of labradorite.
Each prop is hand painted and slight variations will occur. "The weight and color are perfect... its dark color makes it look really beautiful, just like in the movie. The words engraved on it are "innikh dê" (meaning "Return to me") and it is elegantly carved by the artists." Aslibayrak - Weta Collector
