The marine brigade (since March 1, 2013, the "San Marco" Marine Brigade) is a large amphibious unit of the Italian Navy established on March 1, 2013, by reorganizing the Navy's Landing Force. Its command is in Brindisi.
It is part of the inter-force amphibious component "Forza di Proiezione dal Mare" (Sea Projection Force), whose commander is the same admiral commanding the San Marco Marine Brigade.
Their motto is "Per Mare Per Terram" (By Sea, By Land)
