Audrey Hepburn (born Audrey Kathleen Ruston; 4 May 1929 in Brussels – 20 January 1993 in Tolochenaz) was a British actress. Raised in Belgium, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, where she lived under the Nazi regime, she studied dance during the Second World War, then moved on to theatre and finally cinema.

During her career, she worked with Billy Wilder, George Cukor and Blake Edwards, as well as actors such as Gregory Peck, Humphrey Bogart, Gary Cooper, Cary Grant, Rex Harrison, William Holden and Peter O'Toole, and rose to fame with roles such as Gigi in a stage production of the novel of the same name by French writer Colette (1951), a performance for which she won the Theatre World Award for Best Stage Debut, Princess Anne in Roman Holiday (1953), a performance for which she won the Oscar for Best Actress, Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) and Eliza Doolittle in the musical film My Fair Lady (1964).
