Arkham Horror is a cooperative board game created by Richard Launius and published in 1987. The game was revised, modified and republished in 2005 and 2018 by Fantasy Flight Games, so there are currently three editions of the game that are profoundly different from each other.

It is set in Arkham, a fictional Massachusetts town invented by the writer Howard Phillips Lovecraft. The game is a cross between a board game and a role-playing game. In the second edition, players (1 to 8) play the part of some investigators who must try to defeat the monsters that haunt the streets of Arkham and close the portals that allow these monsters to enter our world
