The Care Bears is an animated television series produced following the success of the toy line of the same name, which aired from 1985 to 1988. In Italy, the series was first broadcast by Euro TV, then by Odeon TV, and later by Canale 5, Italia 1, and JimJam. The original American theme song was retained for the first broadcast, but was later replaced, once the series was acquired by Fininvest/Mediaset, by a song sung by Cristina D'Avena.

The story of the animated series revolves around the lives of the Care Bears, who live in a beautiful place in the clouds called "Care-a-Lot," part of the Kingdom of Love.
