The National Aerobatic Team (PAN), officially known as the 313th Acrobatic Training Group, but commonly known as the Frecce Tricolori, is the aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force, established in 1961 following the Air Force's decision to create a permanent group for the collective aerial aerobatics training of its pilots; its operational base is at Rivolto airport (UD).
With ten aircraft (since 1982, they have used Aermacchi MB.339 A/PAN MLU aircraft), nine in formation and one solo, they are the largest aerobatic team in the world, and their flight program, comprising about twenty stunts lasting approximately half an hour, has made them famous and recognized as one of the best aerobatic teams internationally, performing stunts all year round.
