The Frecce Tricolori, whose full name is the National Aerobatic Patrol, constituting the 313th Acrobatic Training Group, are the national aerobatic team (PAN) of the Italian Air Force, established in 1961 following the Air Force's decision to create a permanent group for the collective aerobatic training of its pilots. With ten aircraft, including nine in formation and one solo, they are the largest aerobatic team in the world, and their flight program, consisting of about twenty maneuvers lasting approximately half an hour, has made them the most famous. Since 1982, they have used the Aermacchi MB.339 A/PAN MLU aircraft, and they are based at the Rivolto (UD) airport.
