Carabinieri Squadriglie: Nuclei composed of military personnel of the Arma on foot, on horseback or on mechanized vehicles and employed in case of abnormal conditions of public safety. They have the essential characteristic of mobility and speed and can be integrated by PAC (Posto Ascolta Controllo), connected in a chain by radio along the chosen itinerary.

They were established on August 27, 1960 as anti-cattle rustling squads and on July 6, 1971 they took on the name of "Squadrons". Currently there are numerous squads located particularly in various areas of Calabria and Sardinia.
