Shockwave (known in Japan as Laserwave and in Italy as Brutal) is a character in the Transformers universe, a military commander of Decepticon operations. This character's distinctive appearance is his single eye and a cannon in place of his left hand (right in some series).

A Decepticon military commander, Shockwave's position is second only to that of Megatron. His actions are carried out with uncompromising precision and clarity, according to pure logic, leading him to behave in ways one would expect from a purely mechanical being.

Unlike the other Decepticons, Shockwave does not appear to be driven by any kind of personal ambition, simply following Megatron's orders to the letter; this makes him, along with Soundwave, one of his most trusted collaborators and the one entrusted with the crucial task of governing Cybertron in Megatron's absence.


It possesses the ability to fly in both modes, and its alternate form is that of a Cybertronian cannon.
