These items are produced according to very specific production standards dictated by the Ministry of Defense

The brooch is made of enamelled metal and measures 4 cm

The tassel on the Alpine troops historically indicates the battalion within a regiment.

The tassel, located on the left side of the hat, is the semi-ovoid disk into which the feather is inserted. For military personnel, this disk is made of colored wool on a wooden core.

For junior officers, senior officers and non-commissioned officers, the tassel is made of gilded metal and, in the Piedmont and Aosta Valley departments, bears the Savoy cross in the centre.

From the rank of brigadier general onwards, the material used is silver-plated metal.

It is an identification symbol for each battalion, with different colors distinguishing each unit:

White for 1st, Red for 2nd, Green for 3rd and Blue for 4th, Purple for Sappers
